Sarah Lurie Women in Business Scholarship Program

The Sarah Lurie Women in Business Scholarship Program is designed to support women in need, just like you, to gain access to meaningful work opportunities, with the additional training and business tools you need to succeed in business. With access to a free 12-month membership, valued at $180, we will champion and support you to grow your worth by connecting you with flexible, valuable work opportunities.

Sarah Lurie was an exceptional young woman at the beginning of her career. She was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 21 and sadly lost her battle with cancer just over a year later. She passed away in May 2022.

Sarah was brilliant, generous and a high-achiever her entire life, from school right through to her last days, still taking client briefs from her hospital bed. She was a founding member of Freelancing Gems and our very first intern. Sarah will live on in our memories, the words she wrote and the experiences we shared. This scholarship program has been named in Sarah’s honour, to acknowledge the contribution she made to our Freelancing Gems community and the example she set for women in business – to waste no time in pursuing your dreams.
