The Australian Mining Review is seeking an experienced freelance journalist to join a strong and highly regarded team of writers to work on our newspaper and digital products.

Reporting directly to the Group Managing Editor, you will:

• Have excellent communication skills.

• Be able to meet strict publication deadlines.

• Liaise daily with the production team.

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrate strong client management skills within the Australian market.

Ideal Applicant or Experience

The successful applicant will:

• Have strong interpersonal skills, with experience in building and sustaining positive working relationships with clients.
• Be a driven, creative thinker who can bring new ideas to the mix.
• Be highly proficient in spelling and grammar, be well organised, have a strong work ethic, be able to work within a team and be able to meet deadlines.
• Be prepared to write content for our large advertiser base and look after their editorial needs with diligence.
• Liaise with clients in a timely and professional manner.
• Be able to write general news articles, editorials, some technical pieces and feature reviews.
• Have an understanding of writing for social media platforms to engage readers and grow our brand.
• Have experience in the mining industry, with an understanding of the industry supply chain.
• This would be an advantage but is not essential.
