You know that at Freelancing Gems we always talk about business and career evolution and kicking the door open to opportunities. Well, we want to share what that looks like for the Freelancing Gems membership after four years of creating opportunities for hundreds of women in our community.
We are excited to announce to our valued community that Beam in Business has acquired the Freelancing Gems membership.
In evaluating what was next for Freelancing Gems in 2024 and beyond, we have joined forces with Beck Smith, founder of Beam in Business and Beam Women’s Business Awards to take our members into the future.
Like Kirsty and Fleur, Beck has been a champion of women in business for the last few years and we have long admired her passion for empowering businesswomen like we do. As two companies with shared values to elevate women in business in Australia, Beck was the clear choice to lead the membership side of our business.
We understand this will come as a surprise, and we promise you this decision has been made with our members’ best interests at heart. With Beck’s passion, network and vision to support women in business via a membership offering, she is the best person to be at the helm. Kirsty and I will still be on hand throughout 2024 to support Beck and our members as we take this new and exciting “Beaming” road together.
What does this mean for you?
If you are a Freelancing Gems member of any description you will become a Beam in Business member automatically on June 18th, at no added cost to you. Nothing will change for you, except that you’ll see your Freelancing Gems membership platform change to Beam in Business during June, as well as a few exciting upgrades to your membership experience.
We have created the below FAQ guide to answer all of your initial questions. We know your first question will be, “Can I still get access to jobs?” Rest assured, that the answer is, YES.
Over the next few days, you will receive more information on what is included in your new membership and be invited to live Q&A webinars with Beam in Business and FG to learn more about the transition. We will also be hosting an event for you in Brisbane in July to celebrate the news and introduce you to the Beam team.
It has been an honour for Kirsty and Fleur to lead so many amazing women over the last 4 years and you will hear from us both separately over the coming weeks on what FG has meant to us.
In practising what we preach, we knew it was time to make this big business decision for the good of our members and the business. We want to see you all thrive and continue to grow your businesses to new heights, and we know that Beck and Beam in Business will take you there. This isn’t goodbye from Freelancing Gems, but it is a business evolution.

We are also excited about her additional offerings for our members to attend more events and take part in the Beam Business Awards. Kirsty and I will still be on hand throughout 2024 to support Beck and our members as we take this new and exciting “Beaming” road together.
While we no longer offer membership services under Freelancing Gems, the brand will still exist and provide both our Mastermind Coaching and online course services. We will see out our current coaching programs and our next cohorts will launch later this year, once we settle our members into their new home.
The Freelancing Gems Mastermind programs currently in progress will continue as usual.
Students will still have 12 months access to the course content as per their original access time.
Your Freelancing Gems membership will automatically transfer over to a Beam in Business membership. You do not need to do anything at this stage.
Your profile will remain on the FG website, the website itself will change over to Beam in Business so you don’t need to action anything.
You will receive communications from Beam in Business over the coming days with an invite to join their private Facebook group.
Your membership will renew automatically on its scheduled date.
Your membership will renew at the current price for the first 12 months with Beam.
