Tell us a little about yourself and your business?

Exec-Deck provides PowerPoint design services for individuals, executives, senior management, small and large businesses, start ups, and enterprises. If it’s your next QBR; a boardroom presentation; you’re launching a training course; or you’ve got a conference coming up, I can alleviate about 65% of time and effort that you put into creating a PowerPoint. 

It’s win-win as I get to use my previous experience in director/executive roles to apply business thinking to your PowerPoint structure and design, which provides you with a fresh perspective and some business insights you might not have; and you get time back to work on other tasks.

The advantages of creating professionally designed slide decks are reinforcing your credibility in the field, they show you are on top of your business, they build trust and ultimately people want to be associated with you and your business.

What inspired you to make the leap and go out on your own, and when did you first start working for yourself?

I love what I do and I want to do it full time. 75% of my clients come back for a second slide deck within 3 months.

Tell us about your experience of working for yourself?

I love the variation in this business rather than working for an employer. No two PowerPoints are the same and I get to learn about people and organisations along the way. I find I’m just as passionate about the presentations as my clients are.

What’s your best piece of advice for someone wanting to make the leap?

Just do it! Surround yourself with good people who support and challenge.

Best tips for winning new business?

Networking and great reviews. I have 5 star reviews on a gig platform and which I have asked to add to my website once it’s up and running.

What has been your favourite project to date?

Hard to choose, I did an investor deck recently for the energy industry which was fascinating, a book club launch which was fun, and a visitor experience turnaround proposal for an international airport but I also really enjoy the monthly meeting updates or QBRs. There’s not one presentation that I’ve not enjoyed.

What is a business win you’re currently celebrating?

Repeat business from a client for multiple training course decks.

What led you to join Freelancing Gems?

I was always drawn to the posts on LinkedIn and keen to expand my network, I decided to join.
