About Speckles
I’m an orthoptist, that specialises in children’s vision. While working I noticed the lack of innovation in the children’s vision space. So I decided to make a better experience for my own patients so that they could get the most out of their treatment and have better compliance. From here Speckles was born. We have started with fun designs for eye patches, to encourage the child to patch and we will be launching our very unique and fun pair of prescription glasses for kids later in the year.
Speckles’ focus is to change the narrative on children’s vision impairment, from clinical and daunting to fun and exciting. We also aim to raise awareness of eye conditions in children that are critical to be treated during infancy to prevent blindness and we want to do this by building a useful content hub that will have everything parents need to know on their child’s vision. We also proudly donate $1 of every product sold to Sightsavers to help them with our shared mission of preventing avoidable blindness in some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
We want Speckles to be the go to brand for kids vision needs so we are looking for a creative person with an eye for design and big ideas to join our team to help with our social media and marketing to make this a reality!
About the role
We’re a start-up, so we need someone who knows this space. Someone who can be strategic but is also ready to roll up their sleeves and make some magic happen.
The responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage all brand marketing channels for Speckles, including our website, social media, events, PR and other digital channels
- Create content for our blog, eDMs, social posts, loyalty programs and messaging including written copy, editing, and any other forms of content development/staging.
- Create and maintain a content marketing pipeline, library, and calendar
- Help maintain a cohesive brand identity and tone-of-voice across all communications
- Support in design of collateral and branding for our products
- Deliver branding and marketing campaigns to achieve key objectives of driving brand growth, increasing brand awareness, attracting new customers, and building customer loyalty
- Build online traffic through optimising search, social, and other digital media sources
- Drive sign-ups, subscriptions and continual site optimisation to improve conversion and customer journey
- Manage social and google ads to help us grow in Australia, US, NZ and eventually, globally
- Target PR opportunities and increase brand reach through media outlets and campaign opportunities that help further our brand/thought leadership position and expose us to new prospective customers locally and nationally (minimum of 4 in the first three months)
- Attract new, quality subscribers to our newsletter/mailing list (hit key numbers in the first three months)
- Carry out updates of website landing pages, web banners and scheduled promotions
- Implement our digital automation to engage customers along the journey
- Report on content effectiveness metrics; continually monitor, analyse, and tune messaging to maximize excitement for our brand, technology, and products.

This is an on-going role, for 2-3 days per week (flexible with days). We are a fully remote workplace.
