Can you write compelling copy that captivates audiences and drives sales that win over hearts and minds?
We are hiring for immediate placement – on a REMOTE PART-TIME FREELANCE / CONTRACTOR / WORK FROM HOME (WFH) BASIS.
Even though this role will not become a permanent full-time employee role, it can become a long-term relationship as we’ve established with freelancers who work for us from all 4 corners of the globe. Some of them have been with us from day one, when we set up the business 10 years ago.
We’re looking for an experienced, detail-oriented copywriter with a proven, strong track record of writing sales copy that sells for a wide range of audiences across different platforms and channels including social media.
EVEN THOUGH THE WORLD HAS CHANGED – We still need a gifted human being who embraces the new AI paradigm and can exploit all its power while minimising its deficiencies and shortcomings QUICKLY and EFFECTIVELY.
That means using your experience and acquired expertise to get the tool(s) to do the heavy lifting and provide better copy with your unique editing skills to embellish and improve the final product.
If you’re a skilled copywriter with a knack for winning hearts and minds, and you prefer refining over heavy lifting, this role is perfect for you. As a detail-oriented professional, you bring a proven track record of crafting polished, persuasive, captivating, sales-driven copy.
With your experience, complex concepts will be simplified, and the copy will adopt a conversational tone that resonates with readers on a personal level.
Even before COVID, we grew our team of freelancers and contractors to run operations and media campaign optimisation 24/7. We are NOT looking for full-time employees. We need remote contractors who want to continue to work from home (WFH) and provide specialised skills to match our growth and contribute 5 to 20 hours/week on a flexible, variable basis.
This role is for someone who will focus on sales copy that moves people to action via emails, websites, specialised landing pages, blogs, social media and traditional media including TV, radio and print.
We are NOT looking for content writers who write blog posts, articles and information guides, whitepapers and reports. AI can now create most of these with minimal editing.
We need you to be able to write, edit and proof copy that turns website browsers into buyers for landing pages, email campaigns in both long-form and short-form copy, point-of-sale material and direct call-to-action promotions, etc.
We adhere to the Storybrand framework and our founder is a registered Storybrand guide. The book is widely available for +/-$30
This approach to copywriting is based on storytelling in the first-person active voice in a conversational tone and style, to engage the reader and create an experience while they read an email, blog post or webpage.
This writing style is not everyone’s forte. We need qualified copywriters who can produce final copy (output) in this personal, conversational style.

Ideal Applicant or Experience
Your Role as a Freelance Contractor:
As an independent contractor, your key role involves writing copy with or without AI (at your discretion).
An ideal profile for this role would look like this. Please note we are not expecting you to possess all of these skills!
Language Proficiency and Detail Orientation:
- Exhibit excellent English proficiency with a conscientious and detail-oriented approach.
- Obsess over grammar, avoiding misspellings, awkward structures, and muddled messages.
Editing and Proofreading Expertise:
- Recognize that while LLMs produce impressive work, they still require editing and proofreading before publication.
Compelling Communication Skills:
- Possess the language skills to judge compelling headlines, effective transitions, and conclusions.
- Simplify complex concepts and enhance user experience, empathizing with readers throughout the customer journey.
Human Touch in Editing:
- Acknowledge that ChatGPT and similar tools still require human editors or proofreaders for QA and domain-specific accuracy.
- In this freelance role, your ability to blend artificial intelligence with human finesse will elevate copy quality and resonate effectively with our audience.
Mastery of AI Tools:
- Proficiency in daily use of ChatGPT prompting is essential.
- Quick turnarounds with excellent QA are expected, eliminating typos or muddled content.
Technical AI Skills:
- Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation, particularly tools like Pictory, Synthesia, ScoreApp and Interface, would be valuable assets.
Sales Copywriting Experience:
- 5+ years of proven sales copywriting experience; not suitable for SEO-focused content writers.
- Editing experience in marketing communications, especially revising existing content for improved sales conversion.
Industry Experience:
- Advertising/promotional agency experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Communication and Writing Skills:
- Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Clear, concise, and highly engaging writing skills.
Software Proficiency:
- Thorough knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office is a must.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous but not necessary.
CMS and Technical Know-How:
- Experience with CMS systems (WordPress, Weebly, WIX, etc.) is a plus for direct copy editing within these platforms.
- Familiarity with the creative briefing process, collaboration with graphic designers, and the revision process within remote teams.
Digital Marketing Skills:
- Experience with social media and SEO copy optimization is required.
Specialized Expertise:
- Highlight experience in writing for commercials and promotional radio campaigns.
Contractor Experience:
- Prior freelancing/contractor experience is a must. Commitment to the onboarding process is essential.
