Missing Perspectives has received funding to expand our original news reporting. We are on the lookout for female-identifying reporters around the world to join Missing Perspectives as freelance correspondents.
We want to build relationships with the world’s brightest up-and-coming reporters who will work with us to boost female representation in the news industry, and publish ground-breaking reporting that has a social impact – especially for women.
Ideal Applicant or Experience
You’re right for this job if you are a creative and organised journalist who is able to find compelling stories – particularly those often overlooked by mainstream media – from your community and region to share for our newsroom. You have a passion and curiosity to source and platform authentic local stories that will resonate with our global audience.
Our preferred candidates have:
- A broad interest in news and current affairs, including local issues and stories in the public interest.
- An interest in advancing gender equality and women’s rights.
- Degree in journalism, media or equivalent.
- Understanding of fact-checking and journalistic ethics.
- Ability to think and write quickly within tight deadlines.
Our freelance reporters will be paid competitive rates per article. We are looking for reporters who can write for Missing Perspectives on a regular basis and build a relationship with our small team.

We believe that any young woman can be a journalist – just by picking up a pen and observing what is happening around them.
